Here is a commission I finished for a friend last night. Tyrannosaurus rex, getting ready to celebrate Christmas. Contrary to popular opinion, T. rex most likely didn’t have vision-based movement. He would probably have seen you still or moving. So, in other words: He sees you when you’re sleeping He knows when you’re awake YouContinue reading “Guess Who’s Coming to Christmas Dinner”
Now I can show the entire process, step-by-step, for how the Spinosaurus painting came to be, from preliminary sketch to the finished artwork. A scan of the painting is at the end. Hope you enjoy the pictures!
The cover art for “Arrivers: Alliance” is now finished and scanned. So here is the result. I also finished another piece of paleo art, depicting two Carnotaurus stalking a Saltasaurus. The foreground flesh-eater is calling for the rest of their pack to help tackle the giant sauropod. Hope you all have a terrific day!
I have been continuing to practice my skills in paleo-art and landscapes. Maybe someday I can get a piece on permanent display in a museum somewhere. I asked a friend to pick a dinosaur he’d like to see me paint, and he suggested Spinosaurus aegypticus. It was ideal for me to challenge myself. This creatureContinue reading “Paleo-Art in Progress: Spinosaurus, Part 1”
It’s been a busy couple of months with a new job, but there’s some good news. I have been re-invited back to the Rocky Mountain Dinosaur Resource Center to sell artwork at their arts and crafts fair. The fair is planned for July 11th, and I’ll be working on more artwork. I’m also happy toContinue reading “Getting Published in Prehistoric Times, New Art Show”
As of today, I have opened up a shop on the shopping website Etsy. This would be a great chance to sell some of my dinosaur and landscape paintings, and perhaps other items later on. Only 5 items are there right now, but more shall be added as time goes on. Since I just haveContinue reading “I Now Have an Etsy Shop”
Here’s the latest of my acrylic paintings, a commission called “Mist and Moonlight.” As always, it’s an acrylic work, and I painted it on an 8 x 10 inch canvas. Thank you very much for stopping by and having a look. I should be returning here soon with some more writing, as well. Hope youContinue reading “Mist and Moonlight”
I’ve started painting my own cards. This will come in handy around birthdays and Christmas. I’m also going to try selling them, very soon. I’ll keep you posted on that. “Moss-Covered Mansion” is a Mother’s Day card I did for my grandmother. (My mom will get one too, of course!) Painted in acrylics, which were diluted to look likeContinue reading ““Moss-Covered Mansion” – A Mother’s Day Card”
Good evening, everyone. Here’s another one of the paintings I’ve done recently. It was auctioned off by the Pikes Peak Writers Conference last week. I wasn’t able to attend the conference itself due to insufficient finances, but learned a lot from a “pre-conference workshop” the day before. Especially about query letters, and how painfully uninformed IContinue reading “New Painting, New Articles”
Good morning everyone! I have a couple of new acrylic paintings to share. Sorry I haven’t gotten much writing done, but that’s changing this afternoon, God willing. There’s stories to be finished in them there hills. In other news, I got interviewed about my artwork by the New Falcon Herald, a local newspaper. The articleContinue reading “New Paintings, and I Got Interviewed!”
